Makor HaEmet School Enrollment 2027-28: Exciting TEFA News
October 2026 | Makor HaEmet School | Houston, Texas
Exciting things are happening at Makor HaEmet School! As we look ahead to the 2027–28 school year, we're thrilled to announce that enrollment is officially open for PreK through 2nd grade. We also have some encouraging news to share about the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program, which could provide additional educational funding opportunities for our families.
Makor HaEmet School Enrollment 2027-28: Exciting TEFA News
We recently received confirmation from the State of Texas that families attending Makor HaEmet may apply for the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program under the Homeschool/Other category.
Under current program guidelines, eligible students who are awarded funding may receive up to $2,000 per child annually.
Makor HaEmet is also exploring becoming an approved TEFA vendor, which could allow families to use their funding toward eligible classes and educational services offered through our school. Approval is still pending, so TEFA funding cannot currently be promised toward Makor tuition or enrollment fees.
PreK applicants must meet additional state eligibility requirements, and all awards are subject to program approval and available funding. The application dates for the 2027–28 school year have not yet been announced.
We're excited about what this opportunity could mean for our families and will continue sharing updates as more information becomes available.

A Joyful Start to the School Year at Makor HaEmet
September was filled with learning, growth, and meaningful celebrations on campus!
Our PreK students began recognizing their very first sight words and proudly practiced writing their names. Meanwhile, our Kindergarten students reached an exciting milestone as they began reading complete sentences independently!
Our young learners have also mastered six Hebrew letters so far, building a foundation in the Hebrew language while connecting with their biblical heritage.
The High Holy Days and Sukkot brought wonderful opportunities for hands-on learning. Students created their own lulav and etrog to wave at home and practiced welcoming guests with the Hebrew greeting Baruch Haba!
These are the moments we treasure at Makor HaEmet, watching children grow academically while developing a love for Scripture, Hebrew, and their faith.
